Part of Gawler’s Murray Street will be closed to the public for redevelopment of the street’s footpaths.
The works will impact on north-bound traffic, which will be redirected via Julian Terrace (adjacent to the main street).
Meanwhile, the Department of Transport, Energy and Infrastructure has released a draft road management plan to address Main North and Adelaide roads.
And comments can be made on the safety and traffic flow on these roads - two of Gawler’s main roads.
The draft plan addresses the way the roads operate in the town and how the needs of road users, residents and businesses are met.
Although the recommendations are currently unfunded, the plan will be used as a reference document when setting statewide road fund priorities and when seeking funds for their implementation.
Complete sets of the plan can be viewed at the Town of Gawler council office at 89 Murray Street, Gawler, or can be accessed at transport.sa.gov.au follow the links to ‘Gawler road management plan’.
The main initiatives contained in the plan will be on public display at the council office from July 3 to 31.
The public are asked to make written comments by Monday, August 11.
