James Madden of Lewiston sponsored the annual Sedan off road rally through his Off Road Shop, then proceeded to win the event.
The rally, conducted last Saturday and Sunday, attracted 25 entries for the short course event.
A total of 17 vehicles finished, while eight failed to complete the rally, suffering from mechanical failure.
Spectators enjoyed fast-paced racing, jumps, and keen duels off the start line.
The event consisted of six two-lap heats with each lap about 8kms.
The outright winner was event sponsor, car 81, James Madden of Lewiston, with an overall time of 1hr 6min 26.73sec. Second was car 999, Trevor Copeland, 1.06.39.97, and third was car 1501, Luke Erceg, 1.06.44.31. Only 18 seconds separated the top three placings.
Gawler Road Knights Car Club staged the rally and thanked James Madden for sponsoring, land owner Louie Seidel for the catering which was exceptional, and the bonfire which warmed everyone.
