Greening Kapunda thanks

3/07/2008 8:35:00 AM
On behalf of the Light Regional Council I wish to thank the members of Greening Kapunda for a very successful free native plant give away held on Saturday, June 21.

This group of dedicated volunteers handed out 2100 native seedlings to some 300 property owners.

Plants given away included eucalypts, acacias, hop bush, she oaks and ground covers. The quality of the stock was excellent and the response of the public was equally impressive.

Terri Bateman, who is the co-ordinator of Greening Kapunda, mentioned that the group is looking for new growers.

If you have some free time and some space in your back yard then I would encourage you to contact Terri on 8566 3073. Terri is also looking for recycled plant tubes, which can be used again rather than being thrown into landfill.

Well done team on a great effort.
