Thursday morning the town of Truro was awakened to the horror of fire at the Truro Oval complex.
The second fire in the town in almost as many days. The complex was completely gutted leaving a damage bill of well over $100,000. All of the many hundreds of hours of voluntary work put in by members in the past to have the facilities that were used by so many people for their enjoyment were swallowed up in flames in a few short minutes leaving the community devastated. The members of the board wish to express their appreciation to CFS volunteers who spent many hours helping to make the site safe, staff from the Mid Murray Council who cleaned up the devastation and lastly to the police and the fire investigators who determine the cause of the fire we also express our gratitude.
The job of rebuilding has begun. The community will give its support to the rebuilding of the complex so that it can be used by all again in the future.
