If as reported in the Herald (Sep 10) that money is being spent on upgrading the ‘heavy’ vehicle route of Siegersdorf Road, then why are these heavy vehicles allowed to come thundering in off the Sturt Highway at speeds well in excess of Murray Street’s 50kph and then proceed through Nuri village shaking buildings to their foundations.
You only have to be standing in the newsagents when these huge vehicles come through and feel the whole area shake as they pass.
Heaven help the motorist who gets in front of them and wants to proceed at the correct speed as they intimidate you and get right into your bumper for not travelling faster.
There should be some signs as you approach Murray Street in either direction on the Sturt Highway that stops these juggernauts from coming through residential areas, especially at the speeds they travel.
