Crows’ champ in area

A visit from Adelaide Crows’ 2007 best and fairest, Andrew McLeod, might just be the spark needed to set up an official Crows Supporter Group in the Barossa.

Passionate Crows’ fan Jason Balk has already contacted the Adelaide Football Club to work out how the group should be set up and he is now looking for people from across the Barossa and Light region to join him.

“I reckon it would be really good to have a supporters group going in the Barossa,” Jason said.

“There are a lot of avid supporters here. And I think there are more Crows’ supporters here than Power fans.”

Jason has already received correspondence from David Couch, the Crows membership manager, which outlined what a group is required to meet to become officially recognised by the football club.

Mr Couch revealed the club would need a minimum of 100 financial members and would be required to help fundraise for the football club.

But there are also significant benefits for official supporter groups, including; the provision of a player or personnel once a year for a promotional activity and access to home matches for members a day before they go on sale to the general public.

The supporter group would also be recognised in the Crows’ publications, including a brief report in the club magazine.

If you are interested in helping Jason set up the official supporters group, as a member or even as a sponsor, give him a call on 8563 3793 or 0437 711 180.
